Purpose of project
A new collaboration between the NSW Government and CSIRO’s National Energy Analysis Centre (NEAC) is set to strengthen the state’s capacity to monitor, evaluate, learn from, and enhance the impact of its clean energy programs. The partnership will help to inform plans to address equity, ensuring that everyone can participate in the energy transition as we progress toward net zero emissions.
The Connected energy insights project prioritises energy consumer-level engagement through an innovative combination of energy analytics and household and business participation.
Information gathered through community members’ participation will be crucial in identifying areas of success, and potential pivots in focus that DCCEEW can make to improve its programs for households and businesses, to ultimately reduce energy bills, decarbonise and improve grid reliability.
Impact of project
Backed by RACE for 2030, the project will underpin more inclusive, data-driven decision-making and enable meaningful energy decisions that benefit consumers across NSW. It is envisioned that NSW’s leadership will demonstrate the potential of the NEAC to benefit consumers, businesses and state and federal governments as this capability is adopted nationally.
