Modelling heterogeneity of electric vehicles charging demand in Melbourne: An agent-based modelling approach

Supervisors

Dr. Afshin Jafari (RMIT)

The project

This project uses an agent-based simulation model to explore how Melbourne residents charge their electric vehicles – whether at home, work, or public stations. By capturing the diversity of charging behaviours and access across the city, the model will contribute to an improved understanding of current and future distributions of EV charging demand. Outcomes from this research will support better planning of public charging infrastructure and endeavour to reduce pressure on transportation networks, supporting a smoother EV transition.
