What attracted you to the RACE Industry PhD?
The opportunity to be involved within a cohort of like-minded people who are experts in energy efficiency in buildings, learn from them through workshops, seminars as well as share my knowledge attracted me to the RACE Industry PhD.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you were older?
I have always wanted to become an engineer since I was young. The motivation to become an engineer came from being inspired by father who was a Civil Engineer. At a young age, I was able to go to construction sites with him and witness engineering at its finest, as he worked on huge and challenging projects in the Middle East. This exposure at a young age along with my passion for Mathematics motivated me to be the engineer I am today.
What do you hope to achieve?
Through my engineering knowledge, I hope to design systems that improve the health and wellbeing of people inside buildings.
What innovation/change would you like to see in 5-10 years’ time?
Countries truly making the transition towards net zero targets in all aspects – buildings, transport, industries, and arrest the global warming that is happening at an alarming pace.
Fun fact about you
I did a Master of Science in Automotive Engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany and have a passion for cars and racing.
Favourite quote:
If you FAIL, never give up because F.A.I.L means “First Attempt in Learning”. End is not the end; in fact E.N.D means “Effort Never Dies”. If you get NO as an answer, remember N.O. means “Next Opportunity”.
