What attracted you to the RACE Industry PhD?
I was drawn to the RACE for 2030 Industry PhD program because of its clear commitment to research that can make a tangible contribution to Australia’s clean energy transition. My PhD focuses on sustainability and behaviour change, and the program offers a rare opportunity to engage closely with industry partners and other researchers who care about translating evidence into practice. The chance to build relationships across academia, industry, and policy was a major appeal for me.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you were older?
According to my Mum, believe it or not, an expert!
What do you hope to achieve?
My hope is that the research I am doing can be translated into measurable, real world impact.
What are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to continuing to develop my skills as a researcher, while also building my strengths as a science communicator. I am especially keen to learn more about what helps people make sustainable choices and to share those insights with industry partners who are working towards similar goals.
What innovation/change would you like to see in 5-10 years’ time?
I would like to see stronger use of behavioural evidence in the design of sustainability and energy policies, so that low-carbon choices are easier, more intuitive, and better aligned with how people actually make decisions in everyday life.
Fun fact about you:
A fun fact about me is that I grow sunflowers on my balcony and try to grow them as tall as possible!
