The project
As household electrification becomes an increasingly prioritised measure for addressing climate change impacts, gaps have emerged between community concern about climate change and their correlated support for climate policies. These gaps can be exacerbated by misinformation, issues of trust, and limited lived experience for audiences.
This project aims to examine the potential offered by diverse media sources (e.g., commercial radio, online news, etc.) to influence community perceptions, attitudes and behaviours in support of electrification and Australia’s net zero transition.
The project’s findings will assist communication and media practitioners to identify and develop the critical partnerships and communication interventions that can contribute to an improved understanding and action towards Australia’s net zero emissions targets.
